I took this photo at Amboseli National Park as the first rays of the sun were just appearing. This was the scene after a night blizzard on Mount Kilimanjaro, hence the larger snow-cap than usual. I saw the blizzard, and resultant snow cap, at night – however, I had to wait a good six hours, hoping that the snow would remain until sunrise!
I took the shot with a Nikon D750 and a 70-200mm 2.8 Tamron lens. My settings were an ISO of 200, F7.1 and a speed of 1/320 at 70mm. I aimed to underexpose the shot slightly to bring out the details of the light coming through.
